KINDRED, HAZEL LAVINIA, 95 of Port Wade, Annapolis County, passed away February 22, 2016 in Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown. Born in Port Wade, in 1920 she was the daughter of the late Carrie (McGrath) and Charles McWhinnie. Hazel lived in Saint John, New Brunswick for many years where she was employed by Canada Manpower and retired to Port Wade upon her retirement. She was a life member of the Baptist Church. Hazel is survived by her sister, Vera Casey of Victoria Beach; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Gerald; brothers, Cyril and Clifford McWhinnie; sisters, Marion McWhinnie and Ruth Hartlen. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Kaulbach Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Annapolis Royal. Visitation will be held at 1 pm, Saturday, August 27, 2016, in Port Wade Baptist Church followed by a Celebration of Hazel's life at 2 pm., with Pastor Herb Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Port Wade Cemetery. Donations to the Port Wade Cemetery would be appreciated by the family.
