RING, Marguerite May “Margie”, age 79, of Clementsport, passed away peacefully on Monday November, 30, 2015 in Digby General Hospital, surrounded by her family. She was born in North Brookfield, Queen’s County to the late Ellis & Rita (Burke) Fancy. She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Dean; daughter, Kim (Shane) Ring-Wright of Centreville; son, Kevin (Tammy) Ring of South Farmington; granddaughters, Kelly (James) Cormier of Fredericton NB; and Justine Ring of Kingston ON; predeceased by grandson, Bryan Thompson. She is also survived by great-grandchildren Faith, Lexie, and Seth Cormier; brothers, Harold (Faye) Fancy of Annapolis Royal and Gary (Sam) Fancy of New Minas; Aunt Verna (Ron) Benville of Dartmouth; and several nieces and nephews. Margie was small in stature but more than made up for it with her love of life and big personality. Many will remember her from years working at Fancy’s Jewellers and Annapolis Royal Golf Course. Margie’s main passion was always her family, and in her younger years she loved to golf and curl. She was always very involved in the clubs especially when it was time to decorate; no one could deck a hall like our Margie with her love of all things shiny. Kevin and Kim are her biological children but many others called her “Mom” as she carted them to golf tournaments, bonspiels, and swim meets. As her health declined, her passion turned to shopping at Frenchys, Bethany Bin, yard sales, knitting and of course time spent with Dean at Camp Pretty Mary Lake was Margie and Dean’s second home for more than five decades. They shared much love and laughter overlooking its beautiful shores from their camp. Many tales; true and otherwise, have grown from those adventures hunting, fishing, swimming, boating and four-wheeling together no matter the season. Her card playing buddies faithfully turned up every Saturday night all year round; either at home or at the lake. They continued to seek her company until she was admitted to Digby General Saturday November 28th. No visitation by request. A funeral service will be held 2 pm Friday, December 4, 2015, in Kaulbach Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Annapolis Royal, with Pastor Herb Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at a later date. Special thanks to those who provided excellent care to our beloved Margie; Dr. Ken Buchholz; close family friend, VON Palliative Care, Annapolis Valley Homecare, Digby General Hospital staff. We are forever grateful for the compassion you showed her and take comfort knowing her wonderful spirit lives on in each and every one of her children, grand-children & great grandchildren. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to The Heart & Stroke Foundation or VON Annapolis Valley.
