Obituary of Victor William Brittain

Please share a memory of Victor to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Brittain, Victor William Age 71 passed away November 6, 2015 at his home in Upper Granville. Born in Weymouth, he was the son of the late George and Rachael (Young) Brittain. Victor was a woodsman for many years, cutting firewood and helping his neighbors loading, splitting and piling theirs too. He loved the outdoors; especially to fish and could often been seen at the causeway to Annapolis Royal casting his line and sharing his catch. He was also intrigued with fixing small engines and was particularly good at repairing ride on lawn mowers and was often called on by neighbors for his advice. With a twinkle in his eye, Victor shared his great memory for events and could be counted on for telling humorous stories or the history of a particular vehicle or tool. He loved to barter and trade, not just stories but also anything gas powered. He will be greatly missed by his close network of friends and all the community who relied on seeing his blue car on old Highway #1, his beloved dog, Chase who was his constant companion and also particularly by his sister, Lottie Maria Brittain of Upper Granville and close friend, Donna Goodwin. He was predeceased by sister, Shirley and brother, Alexander (Alex). Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 10th from 7-9 PM and funeral service, will be held Wednesday, November 11th at 3 PM, both from Kaulbach Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Bridgetown with Rev. Joel Hardy officiating. Interment will be held in Wadeville Cemetery. Donations in Victor’s memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Assoc, Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or St. Mary’s Anglican Church. On-line condolences may be sent to www.kaulbachfamilyfuneralhome.com
