Pettipas, John Joseph – 98, of Annapolis Royal formerly of Deep Brook. It is with great sadness we announce the passing of John Joseph Pettipas on December 25, 2014, in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born on November 18, 1916, he was a son of the late Lawrence and Mary (Bonang). In John’s younger years he liked to bowl, square dance and camp. He had a passion for fiddle music and the bagpipes and you would catch him tapping his feet to the music. John was overseas during the Second World War, when he returned he worked at CFB Cornwallis as a medic and later as a stationery engineer working in the boiler room where he retired after 35 years. John was a member of the Clementsport Legion Branch No. 22 for 67 years; a 3rd and 4th Knight of Columbus and a member of St. Louis Catholic Church, Annapolis Royal. John was a kind and considerate friend to all. He is survived by his son, Robert (Sandra), of Deep Brook; daughter, Priscilla (Frank) MacInnis, of Lower Sackville; grandchildren, Tanya McGrath, Shelley (Jeff) Baillie, Robert Lawrence (Cindy) Pettipas, Michelle (Kevin) Wight and Erica Pettipas; seven great grandchildren; sister, Eileen Ameriault (Claude) of Lower Sackville; brother, George Pettipas (Gina) of West Chezzetcook.; a niece and a nephew. He is predeceased by his wife, Marie (2004); sister, Blanche Pettipas and brother, Alfred Pettipas. Visitation will be held Monday, from 7 – 9 p.m. in Kaulbach Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Annapolis Royal. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 30, in St. Louis Catholic Church, Annapolis Royal, with Father Joseph Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in St. Louis Catholic Cemetery, Annapolis Royal. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
