Obituary of Alice Maxine Lillian Hennessy

Hennessy, Alice Maxine Lillian (Pierce) - 97 of Bridgetown passed away peacefully November 28, 2014 in Mountain Lea Lodge , Bridgetown, N.S. . Born April 12, 1917 Maxine moved to Bridgetown at an early age and was raised by Maximo and Mary Gatti . Maxine was an avid volunteer for many worthy organizations such as the Red Cross, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Lung Association, Canadian Cancer Society and the Mental Health Association. She was a devoted mother, grandmother,great grandmother and friend to all. Her interests were knitting, sewing , reading, and travel. She will be remembered for her baking and cooking and ensuring that everyone was well fed and cared for. Maxine is survived by two daughters: Barbara (Harry ) Marshall of Paradise, NS, Lynn (Dan) Jefferson of Kingston, ON and four sons: Kenneth of Toronto, ON, Bruce (April) Hennessy of St. Stephen, NB, Howard (Nancy) Hennessy of Timberlea, NS, Peter (Cheryl) Hennessy of Halifax. She will be lovingly missed by 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband John (Jack) Reid Hennessy, grandson Jason and Maximo and Mary (Momma May) Gatti; half brothers Victor, Donald and James, half sister Bessie. Funeral Arrangements are entrusted to the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service Bridgetown where visitation will be held Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday from St. James Anglican Church, Bridgetown with Rev. Joel Hardy officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Bridgetown. Family flowers only. Donations in Maxine's memory may be sent to St. James Anglican Church, Canadian Cancer Society or the Nova Scotia Heart & Stroke Foundation.
