Sanford, Hazel Viola, 96 of Bridgetown passed away Dec. 18, 2010 in the Annapolis Royal Nursing Home, Annapolis Royal. Born in Clementsvale she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Ester (Simpson) Potter. Hazel appreciated the beauty of the Annapolis valley and expressed that enjoyment through poetry and her love for gardening. She embraced her community by taking on a number of leadership roles. She was a member of the WMS and her church, she was also the past president of the garden Club and was involved with the Annapolis County Music Festival for years. Most of all Hazel will be forever remembered as a much-loved school teacher, and wonderful mother and grandmother. She is survived by daughter: Madelyn (Brinton) Bauchman, West Paradise; son: John Sanford, Moncton: sister Margaret Potter, Kentville; grandchildren: Scott Lawson, Sherry Lawson, Jenise McNeil, Jason McNeil, Leah Sanford and Jacquelyn Marshall. She was predeceased by : daughter: Donna Hall, sisters: Freda, Helen, and Thelma; brothers: Carroll, and Vernon. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Bridgetown. There will be no visitation by request. Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday from the Clementsvale Baptist Church with Pastor Herb Anderson officiating. Interment will be in the Clementsvale Cemetery. A reception will follow in the church hall. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the I.W.K. Children's Hospital or to the Clementsvale Cemetery.
