Obituary of Marion McWhinnie

McWhinnie, Marion Marguerite, 96, of Port Wade, Annapolis Co. passed away November 1, 2010 in the Annapolis Community Health Center, Annapolis Royal. Born in Port Wade she was a daughter of the late Charles and Carrie (McGrath) McWhinnie. Marion was a caregiver for her parents and brother for many years. She was a life long resident of Port Wade and a Charter member of the Habitation Baptist Church. She was an avid reader and writer in her earlier years and some of her writings were published. She kept up to date with the current events and politics until her passing. Marion provided a gathering place for family when they came home and in her earlier days she always enjoyed a good joke or prank. She is survived by sisters: Hazel Kindred of Port Wade and Vera Casey of Victoria Beach, several loving nieces and nephews. Marion was predeceased by brothers: Clifford and John Cyril; sister Ruth Hartlen. Visitation will be held from 1:30 p.m. Thursday until service time at 2:30 p.m. in the Habitation Baptist Church, Port Royal with Rev. Colin McGie officiating. Burial will be in the Port Wade Cemetery. No flowers by family request. Donations in Marion's memory may be sent to the Habitation Baptist Church.
