Burnie, Gerald Alton, 86, of Digby formerly of Litchfield, Anna. Co. passed away July 29, 2010 in Tideview Terrace, Digby. Born in Litchfield he was a son of the late Hanford and Bessie ( Milbury) Burnie. Gerald was a life long lobster fisherman and continued to fish until in his late seventies. He is survived by his children: Shannon ( Lily Kenney) of Litchfield, Diane (Richard) Hall of Karsdale, James of Bear River, David (Angela) of Hillsburn, Ivan (Susan) of Parker's Cove, 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; brother Raymond of Yarmouth and sister Laverta Rice of Litchfield. He was predeceased by a brother Chester. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Annapolis Royal. A private family graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Litchfield-Delaps Cove Cemetery with Rev. Herb Townsend officiating. Family flowers only.
