Hannam, Shirley Velva, 80, of West Dalhousie passed away April 22, 2011 in Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown. Born in West Dalhousie, she was a daughter of the late Harold and Cora Lena (Gillis) Shipp. Velva was a former member of the Do-Your-Bit Club and was an avid quilter. She and Perley were instrumental in the Community Hall. Her home was always open to everyone and there was never an excuse to leave there hungry. She was well liked by everyone who knew her a Mountain Lea Lodge. Velva is survived by daughters, Dale Ring of Clarence; Janice (Bev) Cleaves of Moschelle; sons, Russell (Evelyn) of Carlton Corner; Gordon (Shelley) of Debert; Cecil ( Julie) of West Dalhousie; 16 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; brother, Harold "Glenn" Shipp of Middleton She is predeceased by her husband Perley ; daughter, Elouise; son, Richard "Dick". Visitation will be held Monday April 25, 2011 7-9 p.m. from the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Bridgetown. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday from the West Dalhousie Baptist Church with Rev. David Cumby officiating. Burial will be in the West Dalhousie Baptist Cemetery.
