Obituary of Eyvind Skafte

SKAFTE, Eyvind Robert "Bob" - 81 of Bridgetown passed away at home on April 26, 2014 surrounded by the family he loved. Born in Masson, QC, to the late Eyvind Christian and Marie (Hoyer) Skafte of Denmark. Bob was raised on his parent's farm in Summerstown, ON. He graduated from Kempville Agriculture College in 1953. He moved to Cornwall, ON when he married the love of his life, Wilma (Turksma). In his younger days, camping was a favourite family activity. They decided to make a big change and moved to NS in 1978 to run the Lawrencetown Student Guest Home. He loved going to his house in Florida for the winter, where he could go yardsaling to his heart's content. He was actively involved with the Christian Community Camp at Connell Lake and was a devoted member of the Living Word Fellowship. He is survived by his wife, Wilma; his son, Rev. Jack (Karen) of Beaconsfield and daughter, Julie (Craig) Medicraft of Tupperville. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister, Ann. By request cremation has taken place. There will be a celebration of Bob's life at Bridgetown Baptist Church on Friday, May 2 at 11:00 am with a lunch to follow.
