BROWN, Stanley Ernest, age, 81, Deep Brook passed away peacefully January 10, 2014 in Digby General Hospital with his family by his side. Born in Clementsport, N. S., he was the son of the late Capt. William and Elsie (Canning) Brown. He attended Annapolis Royal Academy, worked for General Motors 17 years before starting his own business, Brown's Automotive Alignment. In his younger years, he was active in sports playing hockey with the Annapolis Tigers and baseball with the Bear River Blue Sox winning the Maritime Intermediate Baseball title in 1952 and later being inducted in the Digby Wall of Fame. Stan was an avid hunter and fisherman and during retirement enjoyed travelling with the R.V. and cottage life at Fisher Lake. He was a gardener and had beautiful rhododendron and azalea gardens. He is survived by his beloved wife, Marilyn (Adams); daughters, Karen (Lealand) Lewis, Deep Brook and Kathryn Brown (Joe Cottreau), Digby; his beloved granddaughters, Brooke and Lydia Ross and Karlea Lewis and enjoyed playing cribbage with Karlea; brother, Peter (Ann), Lunenburg and sister, Jeanne (Vince) Schoenrank, Deep Brook. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sons, Stephen (infancy) and David; sister, Alma and brothers, James and William (infancy). No visitation by request, Family Flowers only. Funeral service will be held Monday, January 13, 2014 at 11:00 AM from Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Annapolis Royal with Rev. Canon Ken Vaughn officiating. Interment will follow at Old St. Edward's Cemetery, Clementsport, N.S. Donations in Stan's memory may be made to Old St. Edward's Cemetery, Box 171, Clementsport, N. S.
