Smith, Douglas Clyde - 84, of Bridgetown, passed away on December 1, 2013 at Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. He operated Everett and Smith Ltd. Of Bridgetown for many years. In his retirement Doug enjoyed spending time at his cottage at Milbury Lake. He had a great love of the outdoors, hunting, trapping, fishing and working on his woodlot at Maple C. He was a member of the Bridgetown Volunteer Fire Department, Bridgetown Curling Club and was recently inducted into the Bridgetown Sports Hall of Fame. He is survived by his loving wife, Margaret P. Smith; sons, Brian (Patty), Greg (Hilda), Kevin (Jean), Hilary 'Larry' (Tracey); several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his twin brother, Donald E. Smith and his wife Joyce. He was predeceased by his son, Robin. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Kaulbach Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service. No visitation by request. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday December 6, 2013 at the Riverside Cemetery, Bridgetown, with Pastor Herb Anderson officiating.
