LAGAN, John - Born August 18, 1934 in Craigneuk, Scotland. Passed away at his home in Bear River, Nova Scotia on October 27, 2013. Beloved husband of 52 years to Helen (Helen Anne nee MacDonald, originally of Glace Bay, Nova Scotia). John and Helen lived 50 years in Hamilton and Caledonia, then two years in Bear River. Father of eight children, Joseph, Maureen, Michael, Anne Marie, wee John (who had been holding a place for Dad), Andrea, Danny, Mary. Grandfather of ten grandchildren Matthew, Hannah, Kyle, Kieran, Connor, Danica, Katharine, Emilija, Angus and Cole. Brother to Ella (Sister Mary Patricia, PB), Michael, Charlie (Father Charlie Lagan, SFM - deceased), James, Anne and Mary. A visitation will be held 7 - 9 pm Thursday from Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia, with a funeral service being held on Friday, November 1, the Feast of All Saints, at 11:00 am at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Digby with Father Henry Smolenaars officiating. Burial will follow in Madonna Catholic Cemetery, Marshalltown. John attended mass on Saturday evening and later in his sleep went off to join those who were waiting for him in heaven. Always a story to tell and a song to sing, John said hello and shared a few words with probably everyone who has ever crossed his path.
