Halliday, Sylvia Isabel Laura - 87, passed away on October 17, 2013 at Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown, N.S. with her husband by her side. She was born in Bridgewater, the daughter of the late Freda and Archibald Oakes. She is survived by her beloved husband, Edward E. Halliday. As a young girl she taught school, various types of dance and music for a number of years. She produced a T.V. show called "The Happy Wonderers" which aired on Monday nights for 14 years (seen in Bridgewater, Liverpool and surrounding areas). She loved her music and was a dedicated worker for Christmas Daddies (selling tickets, arranging musical shows and anything else she could think of to raise money). She was faithful to her church and enjoyed singing in the church choirs and for any other organization that required her singing talents. During the summer she could often be found in her garden which she thoroughly enjoyed. She was predeceased by her parents and a sister. There will be no visitation by request. A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 21, 2013 at 2 P.M. from Kaulbach Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Bridgetown with Rev. Patty Beals officiating. Private family burial will follow in Hillsburn Cemetery. A sincere and heartfelt thanks is extended to the staff of Mountain Lea Lodge for her wonderful care over the years and to Dr. Goodine for his continued support. Family flowers only. Donations in Sylvia's memory may be made to the Lawrencetown United Baptist Church or a charity of one's choice. On line condolences may be sent to www.kaulbachfamilyfuneralhome.com
