Grant, Freeman John, 91 of Belleisle, Annapolis Co., passed away September 6, 2013, in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Greenwood, he was a son of the late Roy and Ada (Salsman) Grant. Freeman was a truck driver for many years but loved being a farmer and working in the woods, being outdoors and especially enjoyed travelling. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He loved playing his guitar and banjo and was a long time member of St. Mary's Anglican Church where he helped with the music. Freeman was an oxen teamster and attended many exhibitions. He was involved with the Seniors Games from the local level to the Federal level. He was also a member of the Oddfellows Lodge for 35 years. He is survived by his loving wife Leona; daughters, Helen (Andrew) Hardy of Granville Center; Joyce (Leslie) Smith of Granville Center and Wendy (William) Knowlton of Belleisle; son, Glenn (Marsha) Grant of Belleisle; grandchildren, John-Allen, Jesse, Natasha, Hayley, Alexis, Alister and Julia; great grandson Jason; sister, Margarette Whitman of Lawrencetown; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister Elsie Naugler. Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. Sunday from the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Bridgetown. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 9, from St. James Anglican Church, Bridgetown with Father Joel Hardy officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Anglican Cemetery, Belleisle.
