Obituary of Ava Munroe

Munroe, (Weir), Ava Mae, 89, of Victoria Beach, Annapolis County, NS, went peacefully to be with her Lord at the Annapolis Royal Nursing Home on August 29, 2013. Born in Saint John, NB, on the 18 July of 1924, she was the daughter of William Weir and Agnes (Stone) Weir of NB. She was predeceased by her husband Harry B. Munroe, daughter, Bonnie L. Difford and grandson Paul Foley. She was also predeceased by three brothers, Ernest, William and James and two sisters, Beatrice Hendricks and Helen Weir. She was an avid church member, Sunday school teacher and superintendent for many years. She received a 50 year certificate of recognition for faithfully serving as treasurer of the church. She loved to sing and play her guitar and along with her sister in law, Eunice Baker, they often did many duets during church services. She wrote many poems during her lifetime and several of them can be found in her book. She loved her family and friends and was always ready to lend a helping hand wherever needed. In turn she was dearly loved by all who knew her. She is survived by sons, Vernon (Anne) of Granville Ferry, NS, Donald (Betty) of Lacombe, AB, Philip of Granville Ferry, NS and Daughter Heather Sabean (David Albright) of Nictaux, Annapolis Co., NS. Seven grandchildren and several great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren, also several step grandchildren and step great, great grandchildren along with one sister- in- law Eunice Baker and nieces and nephews and her very special friend Jessie Fox. Visitation will be held 7-9pm Saturday August 31, 2013 with the funeral service being held at 3pm Monday, September 2, 2013, both from the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Annapolis Royal, with Rev. Stephen Wade officiating. Interment will be at the Garden of Peace Cemetery, Victoria Beach. Luncheon will be served at the Legion Hall in Annapolis Royal after the interment. A very special thanks to Dr. Buckles and the Nursing Staff of Annapolis Royal Nursing Home, for the wonderful care they have given Mom, Nana, Auntie and Friend.
