Rice, Nicholas Darrin - 15, Tupperville, Annapolis Co. It is with broken hearts we announce the sudden passing of our beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend. Nick passed away at home, August 23, 2013. Born March 10, 1998 at Valley Regional Hospital, he was the son of Debbie (Potter) and Darrin Rice. Nick had a kind and quiet nature and a true love for the outdoors which stayed with him all his life. He loved fishing and hunting trips to Newfoundland, as well as the family camp at Flanders. Nick had a creative nature and enjoyed building things out of his imagination. He always had a project on the go, whether it was restoring a go-kart or building his camp in the orchard. Nick had a keen interest in airplanes and was taking flying lessons. He also loved hockey and was planning to play in Digby, this fall. He was an honour student at Bridgetown Regional High School and recently completed his Duke of Edinburgh bronze level. He also had an interest in farming and had a beef cow and several chickens that he raised on his own. He touched the lives of so many during the few short years he has been with us. We know he has left this world a much better place. He is survived by his parents; sisters, Emma, at home; Erika (Jeff Brown), Mount Uniacke; grandparents; many aunts, uncles and cousins. A funeral service will be held 2 pm Thursday, August 29, from Bridgetown Baptist Church, with Pastor Herb Anderson officiating. Following the service a visitation and reception will be held in Bridgetown Fire Department. Burial will follow in Centerlea Cemetery, Centerlea. Donations in Nick's memory may be made to the Mental Health Clinic 15 Chipman Drive, Kentville B4N 3V7. On line condolences may be made at www.kaulbachfamilyfuneralhome.com "May the road rise up to meet you, May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warmly on your face, And the rain fall softly on your field. And until we meet again, may God hold you in the hollow of his hand". "We Love you Nick and we will see you again"
