Marshall, Shirley Ann - 75, Lequille, passed away in Annapolis Community Health Center, April 16, 2013. Born in Annapolis Royal, she was the daughter of the late Colin and Helen (Rice) Burrell. Shirley was a member of the Annapolis Royal Baptist Church, as well as the Liberal Association. She loved politics, spending time in her garden, cooking, being around people, bowling, and doing lexicons. She is famous for her coconut cream pie that she learned to make from working with her mother starting at the age of 9 at the Queen Ann Inn. Shirley worked side by side with her husband Junior at Esso in Annapolis Royal. Shirley also worked for Dargies Furniture Store, and from there she went onto working at Valley Marines for several years. After that she went onto working side by side with her son Tom, at Tom's Pizzeria and Helens Cabins. In 1992 Shirley took over Helens Cabins, she loved meeting new people and also loved seeing them come back year after year, right up to her retirement in 2012. Her family was the greatest joy in her life; she was a very loving mother, grandmother and friend. Shirley will be sadly missed by her daughters, Deborah Lynn (Alasdair) MacKenize, Joan Shirley (Jamie) MacLeod; sons, Richard Lawrence Marshall, Thomas Allen Marshall; grandchildren, Ryan, Marissa, David (Charlotte), Christopher, and Carrie (Neil); great grandchildren, Makayla, Wesley, Hailey, Jaxon, Summer, Payton, Payge; brother, Robert Burrell (Laura), several nieces and a nephew. She was predeceased by her husband, Junior Marshall. Other then her family she leaves behind two beloved pets, "Austin" (Dog) and "Kitty Girl". In keeping with Shirley's wishes cremation has been taken place. Visitation for Shirley will be held 7-9 pm Friday April 19, 2013, in the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Annapolis Royal. A funeral service will take place at 1 pm Saturday April 20, 2013, in the Annapolis Royal Baptist Church with Rev. Herb Anderson officiating, assisted by Pastor Seth Moore. Burial to follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Lequille. Donations in Shirley's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Annapolis Community Health Center, Palliative Care Unit.
