Durling, Ernest Truman, 79, Carlton Corner, Annapolis Co., passed away April 3, 2013, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Bridgetown, he was a son of the late Truman Durling and Gordon and Lola (Schaffner) Keddy. Ernie was employed at Acadian Distillers for 30 years and operated Bridgetown Aluminum for several years. He was also a carpenter and built several houses in the area. He was a member of the Bridgetown Volunteer Fire Department for over 25 years. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Elizabeth (Hailstone); sons, Tim of Bridgetown; Peter (Darlene) of South Williamston and Donald (Colleen) Hailstone of Halifax.; daughter-in-law, Ingrid Durling of Dartmouth; grandchildren, Robert, Devin, Lisa, Chad, Trisha, Alyssa, Carrie, Emily, Beth, and Andrew; five great grandchildren; sister, Margie (Eddie) Taylor of Upper Granville. He was predeceased by his first wife, Carrie Sarty; son, David; grand daughter, Krissy, brother Frank. Visitation will be held Friday from 7-9 p.m. and funeral service will be held 2 pm, Saturday, April 6, with Rev. David Cumby officiating, all from the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Bridgetown. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Bridgetown. Donations in memory may be sent to the Bridgetown Volunteer Fire Department or to a charity of one's choice.
