Durling, Noel Ritson, - Bridgetown, 3 May 1943 - 25 March 2013. Noel sadly succumbed to an aggressively metastasizing cancer first diagnosed in 2008. His loving family was by his side at Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Noel was the eldest son of the late Ritson and Ruth Durling of Annapolis Royal. He was a hard worker, beginning as so many in the area at United Elastic. Later he worked as a carpet layer and in the funeral business at Charles Dargie and Son. In the early eighties he moved to Centrelea, working at V.J. Rice Concrete for many years. Noel was a kind soul who painted and did carvings that he enjoyed giving to friends. He worked tirelessly at rebuilding St. Mary's Anglican Church in Belleisle and assisted in the administration of the Elements at the Holy Eucharist in the parish. He made many friends and enjoyed driving the bus for Special Olympics for many years. He was a Veteran of the Annapolis Royal Volunteer Fire Department and was recognized in the year of the veterans for service with the West Nova Scotia Regiment. His death leaves a void in the lives of all who knew him, his wife of 48 years, Marilyn (Bent); his brothers, Lorris (Kathy), Fredericton, Kent (Sandra), Mosc helle, Barry (Carla), Caladonia; as well as many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held 7-9pm Tuesday, April 2, at Kaulbach Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Bridgetown, with a funeral service being held at 11am Wednesday, April 3, 2013, in St. James Anglican Church, Bridgetown with Rev.
