Kaulbach Family Funeral Home Obituary Kisby, Patricia - It is with sadness we announce the death of Patricia (Pat) Kisby of Perotte on Monday November 5th 2012 at home. Pat was born October 4th 1938 in Canning, daughter of Gordon Furze, Bath, England and Marjorie Schaeffer (Connors) Canning. The family moved to Yarmouth and, when Pat was twelve, to the White Rock area of B.C. She is survived by brother, Michael Furze (Juanna) Abbotsford B.C. and her partner of forty years Bill Watts, Perotte. Pat was an independent and fearless woman, as a teenager she slipped across the border in to the U.S. and after working in canneries in Washington State, established herself with a job and apartment in Hollywood. Returning to Canada, she lived in Calgary, where she became interested in Scuba diving and qualified as an instructor. She was active in organizing the sport and contributed to magazines and training manuals. After traveling in Europe and North Africa and living in London England she moved to Vancouver B.C. and met her partner Bill while they were working at the City art gallery there. Pat and Bill travelled in Canada, the U.S., and central and South America before returning to Vancouver for a few years, then they moved to Perotte, Annapolis County in 1979. Pat Kisby had clear vision of what a country home and life could be and brought it about with long and careful work and her innate sense of craftsmanship. She was a devoted gardener and lover of all animals; horses, pigs, dogs, cats, poultry, fowl and local wildlife shared her home - often- at the same time- young people travelling through would often spend time in Perotte, too. Pat started working in stained glass in 1990 and soon built up a successful business. She regularly drove her truck to shows in Newfoundland, often in winter. She was a longtime stall holder and Treasurer at the Farmer Market in Annapolis and in time added jewellery making to her accomplishments. Pat was a percussionist and drummer in several local bands; she especially enjoyed Friday night jams at Clementsport. She loved to paint and draw and in later life she rekindled her love of motorcycling, putting many miles on her beloved Harley, she also returned to spending winters in Mexico. Pat has been cremated, a celebration of her life will be held at 5:30pm Friday November 30th at Clementsport Legion. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to TLC Animal Shelter, Box 1601, Digby N.S. B0V 1A0. Online condolences may be made to www.kaulbachfamilyfuneralhome.com
