Wight, Elizabeth Hart - 71, of Annapolis Royal, passed away peacefully Sunday August 5, 2012 at the Halifax Infirmary with family by her side. Born in Middleton she was a daughter of the late Perley and Bessie (Morse) MacAulay. Beth was the loving wife of 53 years to her best friend Roy, caring mother to Elizabeth ( Eric) Melanson, Weymouth, N.S., Joe ( Jessica) , Vancouver, BC, and Tara (Todd) Madore, Halifax, NS, adoring grandmother to Sam Melanson, Daisy and Sawyer Wight, beloved sister to Pat (Len) Power, Annapolis Royal, Brenda MacAulay, Clementsport, NS and several nieces and nephews. In her early married life, she and Roy had many wonderful trips and adventures during Roy's naval career and made many friends at their various postings before returning to her hometown to raise their family. Beth was an active member of the First United Baptist Church of Annapolis Royal in Choir, Apple Blossom Club and as a Sunday School teacher. Beth was involved in her community; as a Girl Guide leader influencing many young women, volunteering as a "Camp Mom" at Johnston Christian Park for several years where her special care comforted many. She enjoyed her daily puzzles, beating her friends at board and card games, and was an avid reader. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Annapolis Royal. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. at the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Annapolis Royal. A service celebrating Beth's life will be held at the First United Baptist Church of Annapolis Royal Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Robert Reid officiating, reception to follow the service at the CE Center. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations in Beth's memory may be sent to Fidelis House, Annapolis Community Health Center or to a charity of one's choice.
