HUDSON, Martha Norma (Stoddart), 94 of Port Wade. Born September 24, 1917 in Berwick, Kings Co., passed away on July 1, 2012 in Annapolis Royal Nursing Home. She was the daughter of the late James and Annie Stoddart. Martha was the last surviving member of her immediate family. After graduating from Normal College in 1937, Martha spent her life educating others, including as an adult educator with the Nova Scotia Literacy Council. She was an active member and organist of the Port Wade United Baptist Church, long-time member of the Port Wade New Horizons Club, Annapolis County Senior's Council and Granville Beach Sewing Circle. She is survived by sons, Larry (Sarah), Port Wade; Dale (Bonnie), Dartmouth; and daughter-in-law, Judy Hudson, Hubbards. Martha delighted in her grandchildren, Terry Milne (Randy), Hammonds Plains; Cheryl Myatt (Nathan), Bedford; Brian Hudson, Scotland; and Allison Hudson, Halifax; great-grandchildren, Leanne Hudson, Aiden and Remington Milne. She was predeceased by husband, Gerald Hudson; son, Neil Edward; daughter, Brenda (in infancy); grandson, Lee Hudson; sisters, Ruth Stoddart, Marianna (Bruce) Thorbourne and brother, James (Mary) Stoddart. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Kaulbach Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Annapolis Royal. Funeral service will be held 3pm Wednesday, July 4th in the Port Wade Baptist Church with Rev. Elizabeth Waugh officiating. Burial will be in the Port Wade Cemetery. A reception will follow in the church Hall. The family would like to thank the staff at the Annapolis Royal Nursing Home for their care and support.
