James Bernard Buckler passed away August 23, 2024, in the Annapolis Royal Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. 

James was the son of the late Gerald Buckler and Alice (Alcorn) Buckler. He was a lifelong resident of Bear River, NS.  James was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed many years working in his woodlot and tending to his immaculate vegetable gardens.  He was also a voracious reader, preferring classic novels and books on World history. He is survived by his mother, his sister Gail, brother-in-law Michael Longmire and their children Katherine Longmire, Abigail (Jeremiah) Sahlstrom and Alexander Longmire (Kerry Donovan).

 Jay was a kind man with a wonderful smile.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Annapolis Royal Nursing Home for their compassionate care, support, and friendship. 

A family service will be held later. Donations in James’ memory may be made to a charity of choice.
