Durling, Ronald Clinton "Ron" -74 Berwick, formerly from Bridgetown, passed away June 24, 2012 in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton with his children and family at his side. He was the son of the late Kenneth L and Iola M (DeEll) Durling. Ron proudly served with the Canadian Army for a short time before returning home to Bridgetown. He was a quiet hard worker taking care and pride in all his labour positions. He instilled a strong work ethic in his children. Ron finished his working days as a custodian with the New Brunswick school system before retiring to Nova Scotia. Although shy, he enjoyed spending time with people. He is survived by daughter, Lisa (John) Hardy, Centreville; grandchildren, Haley and Riley; son, Michael (Donna) Durling, Bridgetown; grandchildren, Morgan and Cassidy; son, Kevin (Sandy Frail) Durling, Rawdon; grandchildren, Chandler, Cameron, and Logan; daughter Tracey Durling (partner Mark Hall), Dartmouth; and grandchildren, (Dales' children) Brody and Connor, Rusagonis, N.B. He is also survived by sisters, Mona Vidito, Ontario; Edith Hannam, Nova Scotia; Linda (Danny) Thibodeau, Saskatchewan; brothers, Robert, New Brunswick; and Steven (Elaine), Nova Scotia. He was sadly predeceased by son, Dale (Noonan, N.B.) and brother, Kenneth (Bridgetown). The family wishes to thank the nursing staff at Fundy Villa, Mid Valley Palliative Care (Dr. Lori Burgess, Katrina Patterson RN, and their volunteers) and a heartfelt thanks to the compassionate and caring nurses on the medial unit at SMH. Your kindness and professionalism during our struggle will not be forgotten. Thanks for the kind words and prayers from Rev. Leon Langille of Kingston United Baptist Church during Ron's last evening. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Kaulbach Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Bridgetown. Visitation will be held 7-9 pm, Thursday June 28, in the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Bridgetown. No funeral service by request.
