Ilene Leslie Myers (Frail)

1943 - 2024

It is with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Ilene Leslie Myers, after a brief illness on June 9th 2024. Ilene was the daughter of the late Arthur and Estella (Ring) Frail. Surviving are her children Paul (Kim) Purcell, Gary Purcell, Jeffrey (Ann) Purcell, Patricia (Peter) Bagley, Pamela (Scott) Wade. Eleven grand-children, several great grandchildren. Lots of nieces and nephews. Her younger brother Lewie (Brenda) Frail. Close cousins Richard Wiles and Juanita Hewey. Close friend Linda Mac Charles. She was predeceased by her husband Garland Myers, her three older brothers Kenneth, Randall, Gerald. And her two older sisters and best friends Maxine and Edie. Also close cousins James Wiles, Bruce Wiles, Raymond Wiles, Bill Wiles.

Ilene worked as a nurses aid in several nursing homes, Bedford, Wolfs Nursing Home and Stewart`s Nursing Home, Annapolis Royal N.S. She loved to play ``scrabble`` with her siblings. There was always a crossword puzzle or jigsaw puzzle on the go. Table games whenever the chance arose. Baking was a favourite pass time, and shared with family and friends. And if she could she would celebrate Christmas all year round as it was her most loved time of year, the rumblings would start in September. The “camp” was a favourite getaway to share good food and early Christmas celebration.

Ilene is resting at Kaulbach Family Funeral Home in Annapolis Royal. A visitation at 1p.m. followed by funeral service at 2p.m. Thursday June 13th 2024. Pastor Mark Cress officiating. Burial in Wadeville Cemetery.

Many thanks to Dr. Stone, Nurse Robin, and the team at Collaborative Practice, Annapolis Royal Nova Scotia. To the doctors and nurses at Soldiers Memorial Hospital, for looking after Ilene in her last days.
