Obituary of Rose Marie Durling

Please share a memory of Rose to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Sadly, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grammie, great-grammie and friend, Rose Marie Durling, of Bridgetown, Nova Scotia, on June 1, 2024, in the Halifax Infirmary at the age of 69. Born on September 26, 1954, in Middleton, Nova Scotia, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence "Bobby" and Hazel "Marie" (Halliday) Hebb.

Upon graduating from Bridgetown Regional High School, Rose worked in the law courts from Annapolis Royal to Kentville as a court reporter. She also enjoyed working for Sears in Bridgetown and Canada Post in Paradise and Bridgetown but most important to her was raising her family, teaching Sunday school, and caring for children in her home. You could find her baking up a storm to feed family and friends for Christmas, her favorite holiday, or making award winning apple pies for Bridgetown Ciderfest something she also enjoyed doing with some of her grandchildren. Or perhaps she was knitting beautiful cozy blankets for family, watching out for bluejays and cardinals, feeding hummingbirds, or solving a Lexicon in record time or completing a challenging puzzle. She enjoyed tending her flowers, watching a good game show, and keeping up with the Royal Family. She always looked forward to family and friend visits, and trips to Swiss Chalet were a favorite outing.

Rose loved her family dearly and was very proud of them all. She will be greatly missed by her cherished boys, Robert (Bonnie) Campbell and Ryan (Chantal) Campbell. She was Grammie to her beloved Braeden (Callie Boyles), Liam (Brooklyn Spencer), Cohen, Torin, twins Conner and Cohl, Zackery, and Mia, Great Grammie to precious Oliver. She will be missed and remembered fondly by brother, John (Patsy Dugas) Hebb, and sisters Marion Hebb and Karen (Laurie) Hardacker, extended family, and close friends. Rose was predeceased by husband Blaine Durling.

Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Bridgetown. A graveside service and burial will be held for both Rose and Blaine at 2 p.m. on Thursday, August 8, at the Anglican Church Cemetery, Bridgetown.

Rose appreciated and was thankful for the care, compassion, and dedication shown to her by the nursing staff and doctors of Victoria General and Valley Region Hospitals' ICU and Infirmary Departments.
