Dunfield, Robert W “Bob”

 

Arctic fur trader, public servant, amateur painter, and author of the definitive history of the Atlantic salmon fishery in North America, Bob Dunfield died peacefully at Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, NS on Saturday, March 30, 2024, aged 85 years.

 

Born in Petitcodiac, New Brunswick, son of the late Frank and Kathleen Dunfield, Bob will be dearly missed by his beloved wife of 60 years, Lillian (née Fanjoy); their children Emily (John Connolly), Peter (Angela Smirnova), and Debbie (Michael Janes); grandchildren Matthew Connolly, Patrick Connolly, Nadya Dunfield, Dasha Dunfield, Oliver Janes, and Maxwell Janes; and extended family, friends and neighbors.

 

Interment to take place at a later date at Maplewood Cemetery, Petitcodiac, NB. A memorial service will be held in the summer.
