Obituary of Peter Morris Paul Christie

Please share a memory of Peter to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with profound sadness that we the family and friends announce the passing of DR. PETER MORRIS PAUL CHRISTIE on February 6th, 2024.
Peter was born on February 4th, 1942 in Val d’Or, Quebec to Mary (Kurello) Brosko and Peter Brosko who, sadly, died in WWII while serving as a navigator in the Canadian airforce.  Peter Brosko was the father of Peter and his brother Gary.  Years later Peter’s mother married Mr. Herb Christie, and they had four children; thus Peter is from a large family of six children, of which Peter was the eldest.  He is survived by siblings Gary, Herb, Kathy, Joan, and David and their families.
Peter was a graduate of the University of Toronto and received his DDS (Doctor of Dental Surgery) from Dalhousie University, Nova Scotia. Most of his dental career was in Berwick, but Peter attracted patients from all over, as he was known far and wide for his empathy, integrity, lively sense of humour and (to his ear, anyway!) a remarkable tenor voice with which he regaled his captive audience of patient and staff.
Peter served on several Nova Scotia Dental Association committees, and was particularly active in the Annapolis Valley Dental Society and his local dental Study Club, where he was ‘Chief Chef” for many years. He planked the salmon and ‘manned’ the BBQ for many a summer gathering, and he always produced the tastiest results. He was a kind and generous man who was always willing to help and assist those in need, an example of which was his work with the local 4-H Club, wherein he taught young 4-H members woodworking in his workshop, adjacent to his home in Bridgetown. Peter greatly enjoyed meeting and working with the young people.
Peter is survived by his wife, Margaret-Jane, his son Fraser and his wife Faith and their two lovely children.   He is also survived by his two daughters, Dana and Jane.
Peter was always a kind and loving friend to Margaret-Jane’s four children.
It is with great sorrow we bid a fond and loving adieu to Peter but also with a deep appreciation and love and thankfulness to God for having the joy and privilege of sharing the life of such a kind and loving man.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Bridgetown.
A celebration of Peter’s life and his burial will be held at the Centrelea Community Hall at 11:00 a.m. on May 11th, 2024 after which interment, to which all are invited, will take place across the street at the Centrelea Baptist church cemetery with the Reverend Doctor Steven Hopper officiating.
In lieu of flowers please donate to the charity of your choosing.
