Please share a memory of Carolyn to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with great sadness that the family announces the death of Carolyn Ruby Scott born May 25, 1937, daughter of Colin and Violet Campbell. She was the oldest of three girls. Shirley Pyke (Chester, New Hampshire), Shari (Eugene) Lenihan (Chester, NS.) She was the mother of five children. Gail (Brock)Henderson (Fort Myers, Florida), Dean(Cindy)Shipp (Upper Granville), David (Susan) Shipp (Calgary), Lynn(Mike)Scott (Annapolis Royal), Larry Shipp (Miriam) (Halifax). She was predeceased by her parents and first husband, father of her children, Glenn Shipp and her second husband, Joseph Scott. Carole was grandmother to nine grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. At an early age she taught school in a one room school house in West Dalhousie, Annapolis County. She furthered her education at Acadia University where she took courses to obtain the equivalent of a bachelor of education and continued her teaching career at the schools in Annapolis Royal. Carole was a hard worker and instilled this in her children and students. She had a love for badminton and coached the high school team for several years. After Joe passed away, she found new and dear friends in Fort Myers, Florida, where she spent many winters with her “Florida Friends”. The family is most grateful to Dr. Ken Buchholz who was a doctor beyond belief in caring for our mom Carole. Also thanks to the many nurses and staff who made her final days so comfortable. Donations in Carole’s name may be made to the Fundy Hospice or the charity of your choice.

A celebration of Carole’s life will be held on Tuesday, November 21st at 2pm, at the Kaulbach Funeral Home in Annapolis Royal. Burial to follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.kaulbachfamilyfuneralhome.com
