Obituary of Viola Belle Potter

Potter, Viola Belle – 89, of Parkers Cove passed away October 3, 2023 at home. Born in Parkers Cove, she was the daughter of the late Elwood and Kathleen (Guest) Oliver. Viola was a long time member of the Parkers Cove Baptist Church, WMS, Awana Leader and Sunday School Teacher. She was also a member of the Fundy Thread and Thimble Club. She was a devoted wife and mother, who was a hard worker and loved to cook, which she was very good at.

Viola is survived by her husband of 70 years, Glen Potter; sons, Darrell (Joy), Digby, Brad (Shelley), Parkers Cove; daughters, Lana, Kentville, Jane (John) MacKay, Truro; daughter in-law, Gina Potter, Parkers Cove; 12 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; sisters, Joan, Marie and Lorraine; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Viola was predeceased by her sons, Grant and Mark; sisters, Maxine Hudson and Ella McGilchrist; brothers, Floyd, Kenneth, Garnet, Elwood Jr “Bud” and Harold

A funeral service will be held 2pm Sunday, October 8, 2023, at the Parkers Cove Baptist Church, with Pastor Jeff George and Pastor Collin McMahon officiating. A private immediate family burial will follow in Parkers Cove Cemetery. Donations in Violas memory may be made to the Parkers Cove Baptist Church.
