David Henry Best

Born June 2, 1951, from Wilmot NS.

Passed away peacefully on August 8 2023

David was predeceased by his mother Dorothy, and his father Donald Best.

Dave loved the outdoors and could often be found working outdoors in his wood pile and creating special wood working projects with Greg, one of our Meadows staff members, whom he loved dearly. He was passionate about his tools and would collect recyclable bottles so that he could purchase his very own tools, and sometimes sneak in an ice cream from Pearle’s in Paradise.

Dave was a kind hearted man who loved with all his heart. He enjoyed teasing the staff whenever he could at the Meadows, and his contagious smile and laugh would always light up a room when he entered.

When he was not outdoors, you could find him spending time with our staff members telling us stories, and spending time with the other participants. David was very fond of his roommate for 20 years, Gerry Gillis, who will greatly miss Davie and all the adventures they had together over the years.

He loved a good party and would often be found on the dance floor showing off his dance moves. Dave loved all animals and we would often see him petting and playing with our resident cat, Ellie.
