After we moved into our home in Port Wade (2020), Milton and Marjorie stopped by and introduced themselves. The next morning, Milton generously gifted us a frame of photos of the house and property how it used to be when it belonged to their family. We enjoyed some visits with them, and learning about our new home and hearing stories about it. We were very saddened to learn of his passing. Our sincerest condolences to the family.

I remember growing up and Darrel ,Chuck and myself would clean out the pond in a boat in the fall of cat tails .So we could go skating when the cold weather came.
Uncle Mick would have a big light up for us so we can skate after supper .Plus a nice little bonfire after to warm our hands and feet.Very fond memories.
My condolence to Aunt Marjorie and the family.

Since I was a kid, some of my favourite memories are from my uncle Mick. When I was just 6 years old, this man helped me hold up a 12 Gauge shotgun to shoot my first rabbit. He was the first to let me drive a vehicle on the road.. without my dads permission of course. He helped me skin my first deer, and I spent night after night trying to beat him in a game of crokinole.
As a teenager I remember driving dirt roads on the mountain, with a cold beer in the cup holder, listening to a John Conlee cassette tape. We were always looking for downed trees that he could cut pieces out of, and turn into some of the finest gun stocks and furniture possible. I don’t know if he did it to get a laugh out of me or not, but he was also the most wildest man I knew with a power tool.
As an adult I’ve always looked forward to telling him about any great news or achievements in my life. One of the most recent updates I was able to tell him, is that my wife and I were using his middle name “Mackenzie” for our soon to be born daughters middle name.
The last few days reading all the comments of him being one of the most helpful, kindest & purest people I’ve ever met, makes me so grateful I was able to grow up having him in my life.
As we head to the airport tonight to come say our last goodbyes, I want to Thank you for sharing all the laughs, lessons and life skills. I will never forget you uncle Mick.

I am so sorry to hear of Mick's passing. He was a lovely man who cared deeply for his family and community.
A few years ago my sister and I were out for a walk and decided to go down to the Mariner's Section cemetery to read the stones if we could find them. As we got closer, we heard a brush cutter and wondered who was doing what down there. We saw Mick, back to, and tried to get his attention so as not to startle him...to no avail. He finally saw us and jumped straight up! We apologized and he explained that he had cleared out the area a few times over the years as it was a shame for the stones to be grown over. So typical of Mick. Out of the goodness of his heart he was there in the heat and the bugs, honoring those who had gone before.
He and his like will be greatly missed. My heart goes out to Marjorie and his children at this difficult time but I am sure you will be comforted by the memories and life lessons he has shared with you all.
Warm regards,
Elizabeth Rhymer

Charlotte and family ....I did not know Milton, but what a life and legacy ...his early days remind me of the large families so common in my native St. John's and outport Newfoundland. Grace and peace to my former library colleague Charlotte and all his family and friends as you cherish his life (but also grieve his passing). Rev. (Retired) David Cumby

Sad to hear this. It was only in December when I had the good fortune to say hello after 40+ years. The last thing he said to me when leaving was come back and visit again.
My heart goes out to the family during this time.

Uncle Milton, you were the best in the winter time making an ice rink and keeping it cleared, for all us children to play on. My fondest memory was this. You will be missed by many but especially your wife and children and all your grandchildren and family.

I am so very sad to hear of Uncle Mick's passing. Always Always Uncle Mick and Aunt Marg are in my thoughts. All of my summers spent at Grammie's house and fishing with Uncle Mick with Darryl and Christopher are still to this day my most favourite summertime memories. Squid jigging that summer where the water was black from so much squid. Now Uncle Mick and Mom (Myrtle) can raise a ruckus again together. RIP my favourite Uncle. My heart felt condolences to Aunt Marg and the kids xoxo, Dale (Myrtle's youngest daughter).

I remember as a teen, Milton would flood his back yard to make an ice rink for skating for all the kids in the neighborhood.
