Hearn, Rita Dorlis – 101, of Annapolis Royal, formerly of Princedale, passed away June 17, 2023 in the Annapolis Royal Nursing Home. Born in 1921, she was the daughter of the late Simon and Margaret Delorey. She was a sister to James, Paul, Mary, Jeannie, Joseph and Anna.

Rita was a woman with a big heart, and great sense of humor, who always made time for everyone. She loved her children dearly. When she was able, she loved to spend time in her gardens, baking in the kitchen, going for walks with Alice or a good game cards. She looked forward to receiving letters from her pen pal, Laurie Naismith, who became such a great friend to Rita over the years.

Survived by children, William of Calgary; Herby of Caledonia; Paul of Princedale; Pat of Round Hill; Harold of Princedale; 12 Grandchildren, four great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Theresa; grandsons, Donald and Stephen. Thank you to the staff of Annapolis Royal Nursing Home, for the exceptional care they gave. Rita was treated like one of their very own, and it did not go unnoticed.

Visitation will be held 2-4 pm and 6-8pm Wednesday June 21, 2023 from the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Annapolis Royal. A funeral service will take place 2pm Thursday June 22, 2023 from St. Louis Catholic Church, Annapolis Royal with Father Raymond officiating. Burial will follow in St. Louis Catholic Cemetery.
