Obituary of Barbara Ann Winchester

 Barbara Ann (Leblanc) Winchester was born on March 28th, 1949 in Yarmouth, NS, and passed away at Valley Regional Hospital on May 17th at the age of 74. She is predeceased by her parents Joseph and Bell LeBlanc and husband Winston Winchester. She will be greatly missed by her large surviving family. Brothers Joey, David, Junior Nelson, Michael, Kevin, and Stacey and loving sisters Mary Allen, Janice Thibodeau, Betty Norton and Peggy Chisholm. Barbara was a major part of her three daughters lives Sheri Winchester (Chuck Stanton) Port Wade. Lisa Winchester-Sarty (Dwayne Sarty), Clementsport, Joyce Sproul (David Sproul) Litchfield. Barbara was an adored Nanny to 6 grandsons Zachery Winchester, Brandon Hudson, Justice Winchester, Carter and Luke Sproul and Jacob Sarty. One granddaughter Ellie Sarty. She had 4 Great grandchildren, Rowan and Spencer Winchester, Alexis Cress and Zola Hudson. Barbara has many nieces and nephews. Barbara’s younger years were spent nursing at Digby hospital, owning a bakery shoppe and eventually a successful restaurant. Barbara’s hands were rarely still, they were always cooking, baking, knitting or sewing. Her cooking was infamous for everything from her pies to her gravy and she enjoyed feeding not only her family but the whole town. After retiring she still volunteered her time and cooking skills at the local Lion and Legion clubs. Barbara enjoyed time outside at the beach and camping. Always being ready for anything. She especially loved family dinners and her bread dressing will be forever missed. Barbara’s last years were spent with someone she loved beyond measure, Roger Brazier who was there with her during her final hours and gave her much comfort. Final resting arrangements are being conducted by Kaulbach’s Funeral Home in Annapolis, NS on Thursday May 25th at 1:00 pm. Reception to follow at Roger Braziers home in #700 Highway 1, Deep Brook.
