Obituary of Margaret "Ann" McConnell

Please share a memory of Margaret "Ann" to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Ann was born January 25th, 1954, in Wingham, Ontario and grew up on the family farm before moving to Fergus to complete school. She later moved to Nova Scotia, where she worked in Dartmouth and Digby, settling in the Annapolis Valley at Upper Clements.

Ann enjoyed the outdoors and gardening. She was skilled at needlework and other crafts and completed many impressive projects over the years. For many years, she raised Golden Retriever dogs; Sheba and Brea brought great joy to her. Ann enjoyed travelling, with some of her most treasured memories including family trips across Canada, as well as to Scotland, Ireland, Florida, Hawaii, and the Caribbean.

Ann was an enthusiastic volunteer with Girl Guides as area leader, organizing and participating in countless camp outings. She was also a dedicated volunteer with various programs at the local schools, including concert bands. Ann was a member of the Grace United Church choir for many years. She also volunteered on the Executive of the NS Branch of the United Empire Loyalists’ Association of Canada.

Ann is survived by her loving husband Brian, cherished daughter Erin (Devon), father-in-law Ted, brother Allan, niece Sheila (Bill) and nephew Kevin (Donnie), all of whom she cared for deeply.

A private family graveside service will take place at Fairview Cemetery at a later date. Donations in Ann’s memory can be made to a charity of your choice. Please leave condolences at www.kaulbachfamilyfuneralhome.com
