Obituary of Ruth Vivian Turner

Turner, Ruth Vivian, 99 - formerly of Litchfield, passed away Saturday November 19, 2022 in the Annapolis Royal Nursing Home. Born in Mount Pleasant, Digby Co. she was a daughter of the late Charlie Garfield and Edith (Rice) VanTassel. Ruth was a member of the Missionary Society for about 63 years and a member of the Litchfield Church for 78 years. Ruth received many awards of recognition for her many creative talents such as cooking, painting and handiwork. She is survived by her sons: Ernest (Verna) and Gary (Valerie); sister, Alice Pereira; grandchildren: Lyndsay (John) Perkins, Jeffrey (Tina) Turner, Michelle (Brian) Lawlor, Tamara (Jamie) Halliday; great grandson, Gage Perkins; several nieces and nephews. Ruth was predeceased by her husband, Donald; sisters: Barbara Downey and Helen VanTassel; brothers: Ira, Shirley, Keith and Donald. A private family graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday November 25, 2022 in the Litchfield-Delaps Cove Cemetery with Pastor Herb Anderson officiating. Family flowers only.
