Please share a memory of Anne to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Anne G. Gabriel (March 12,1934 -  August 30, 2022)

Named for her grandmothers, Annie Gertrude Berry was the daughter of Archibald and Alice (nee Oickle) Berry. Anne was born and raised in Greenland where she attended and later taught in the one room schoolhouse. She fondly remembered travelling with her grandfather from Greenland to Clementsvale on the Old Potter Road in his horse and cart.

In December of 1953 she married Gervais Gabriel and together they raised four children, Deborah (Doug), Daniel, Anthony and Daphne (Mark). During that time she worked at the Sea Shell Restaurant and then started her lengthy career as Post Master of the Clementsport post office. Upon retirement Anne operated an Arts and Crafts gift shop at the Upper Clements Theme Park.

Anne loved to garden, paint, rug hook, knit and read and her artistic soul shaped everything she did.

Anne was an adventurer at heart and whether the destination was to warmer climates, up north or exploring her beloved Nova Scotia, she was always ready for a trip.

She loved to be a part of things. Curling, playing bridge and the Good Neighbours Club are just a few of the things she enjoyed.

Anne love spending time with family and friends and remembered each and every outing with them as special occasions.  She had an open invitation policy and her Clementsport home was the site of many cherished gatherings. Anne was predeceased by her parents Archie and Alice, Gervais, son Daniel, baby sister Kathlene, brother Ronald, sister Barbara and companion of many years, Harold.

Anne is survived by daughters Deborah and Daphne, son Anthony; grandchildren Jessica (Mark), Jason, Annika (Dan), Aaron (Natali), Kaily (Mike), Joel, Jenna, Alexander, Nathanael (Jacqueline), and Gabrielle; great-grandchildren, Kenzie, Talia, Bryson, Annabelle, Evalyn, Emery, Ethan, Shea, Cassie, Felicity, Cecilia and soon to arrive Simon; Sisters Maxine (Lionel), Betty (Dave), Nancy (Norm), Sandra (Greg) brother Brian (Beth), and a large number of extended family.

On behalf of our mother we would like to thank the paramedics, as well as doctors and nurses at Annapolis Valley Regional hospital for your exceptional care and kindness during her brief stay in hospital.
