Obituary of Mary Frances Grant
Please share a memory of Mary to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Our beautiful mother received her wings on Mother’s Day. Mary Frances Theresa Grant passed away May 8, 2022 at Mountain Lea Lodge. Bridgetown. Born in Clementsport on 21 June 1930, she was the daughter of the late William and Alice (Ramsay) Bennett. A woman of quiet strength, love and a little bit of cheekiness, Mom and Dad raised their large family on the farm in Clarence where we all have wonderful childhood memories. Mom enjoyed her years living in Middleton where she made many more friends. After five years at Crosskill Court, Mom moved to Mountain Lea Lodge where she passed peacefully on Sunday morning. Mom loved to bake and was skilled at crocheting, knitting, embroidery, sewing, and quilting. She was a member of St. Alphonsus CWL, St. Monica’s CWL and very involved in the Ladies Auxiliary of the Clarence Baptist Church. Mom was a member of the Red Hatter’s and enjoyed many card parties and quilting bees with numerous friends. Our mother was rich in all things that mattered and she used her meagre income to give support to people and charities important to her. Mom’s faith, prayers and devotion have supported more family, friends and people across this earth than we will ever know.
Mom is survived by daughters : Holly Grant-Munn (Rick) Charlottetown; Daphne Fish (Dale) Princedale, Sheila Rankin (Darrell) Kentville; sons : Robin (Michelle Reese) Bridgetown; Timothy (Jessica Fleet) Kitchener; Stephen (Sarajean MacDonald) Mackay Section; Michael (Ruth Benjamin) Bridgewater; Bruce, Bridgetown; Allen (Lois Potter), Ottawa; daughter-in-law Judy, Kavanagh; Grand-daughters, Stephanie (Grant) Sage; Andrea (Rankin) Sibley, Allison Rankin (Nuhu); Shanna Grant; Julia Grant; Kate McNeil; Brianna MacDonald; Grandsons, Anthony Grant; Leigh, Kristopher, Adam, and Justin Grant; Jonathan and Jason Rankin, Derek Grant, Nicholas Fish; Colyn, Conor, Cameron and Ceiran Munn; Matthew Grant, Tristan and Mattias Dyson; Keegan Grant; Logan, Coltin and Lucas Grant; Twenty-three great grandchildren (and she knew that two more are on the way); sisters in-law Joyce Wiles, June Grant, Doreen Grant-Hall; brother-in-law Harold Dexter and many special nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, George Norman Grant; sons, Brian and Andrew; grandson, Nathan Fish and brothers, Arthur and James Bennett.
The family express their appreciation to the care-giving family at Crosskill Court and Mountain Lea Lodge and, to Dr. Grant Goodine, her long-time family physician.
A visitation (mask required) will be held 7-9pm Friday May 13, with prayers starting at 6:30pm, from the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Bridgetown.
