Obituary of Evangeline "Vangie" Alma Cress

Cress, Evangeline “Vangie” Alma – 75 of Round Hill, Annapolis County, passed away November 11, 2021. Born in Springfield, daughter of Ruth and the late Hudson Joudrey. She worked several places through her lifetime. From Britex, to the Farm Market in Garland Crossings, to owning Cress’s Convenience Store with her late husband. Vangie was all for her family and her community – Dedicating and volunteering so much time. She was the coach for the Round Hill Sluggers (Women’s ball team), she was a member of Bishop Park and Round Hill Hall. She was still an honorary member of the Round Hill & District Recreation Commission, Chairperson of the Round Hill Cemetery and acting Treasurer of TOPS NS Round Hill. You couldn’t stop her from helping out. Vangie is survived by her sons, Daniel (Wanda), Alberta, Allen (Megan Kroger), BC; daughter, Cindy (Mark) Whitman, Round Hill; grandchildren, Christopher, Chantel, Cole, Justine, Kendra, Ethan, Emma, Rachel, Matthew, Effrem, Maggie; great grandchildren, Keira, Ava, Jace, Khloe, Nicholas, Bradley; mother, Ruth Joudrey; sisters, Juanita (Cubby), LaVerna (David), Viola (Basil); brother, Paul (Linda). She was predeceased by husband, Clinton; infant daughter, Vicki Lynn; father, Hudson; brother, Lloyd. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Bridgetown. A public visitation will take place 2-4pm and 7-9pm, Friday November 26, 2021 from the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Bridgetown. Covid 19 restrictions apply. Proof of Vaccine, ID and Masks are required. A private family graveside will take place at a later date. Family flowers only. Donations in Vangie’s memory may be made to Round Hill Cemetery or to Bishop Park. The family would like to express their thanks to the VON and Palliative Care team.
