Obituary of Audrey Mae Barteaux
Please share a memory of Audrey to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Audrey Mae Barteaux
It is with sadness that the family of Audrey Barteaux announce her passing at the Annapolis Community Health Centre on August 6, aged 83 years. She was born to the late Gordon and Dorothy (Hanson) Snow and enjoyed her childhood years growing up in Port Wade.
She married the late Harold Barteaux in 1956, and lived in Moschelle for sixty-four years. Audrey is survived by her son Tim and wife Juanita of Moschelle, two grandchildren Ben (Sarah Fraser) Barteaux, Kate (Laszlo) Tanczos and four great grand-children Will, Grace, Sophie and Ally. Audrey was predeceased by her husband and parents.
Audrey cared deeply for her family and her neighbours. She did this not out of obligation, but because of who she was. She was a constant source of support to her family and was faithfully involved in community events making the numerous necessary phone calls, always offering to provide plates of sandwiches and sweets, and to do her share of kitchen duty. Audrey was a skilled and practiced storyteller always ready with a story to tell, an excellent cook, enjoyed dining out and being involved in whatever was happening in her church and community. She was a talented amateur artist and quilter. She immensely enjoyed travelling the highways and byways of Nova Scotia and the Maritime provinces.
Graveside committal will be held on Tuesday, August 10 at 2 pm at the Harris Cemetery Moschelle, daughter-in-law The Rev. Juanita Barteaux officiating. In lieu of flowers donations in Audrey’s memory can be made to the Moschelle Community Hall, or to St. Luke’s Anglican Church in Annapolis Royal. The family wishes to thank the staff of the Palliative Care Unit of the Annapolis Community Health Centre for the compassionate care they provided Audrey.
Visitation with the family will be held following the committal at #785 Moschelle. Current Phase Four Covid 19 regulations apply.
