I have many fond memories from my younger years of going on some great fishing trips with Tom. He was always up for the challenge. Over the years, Tom and I always took the time to exchange birthday wishes with a brief note to share smiles and special life events. My sincere condolences to family and friends on your loss.

So sorry to hear of Tommy's passing. Many memories of family gatherings in Chezz with all the clan, Tommy always had a smile and a wonderful personality. He will be missed. On behalf of the Smith's-Yvonne, Susan, Louise and Michelle, wishing the family our love and support. Hopefully he is with Nora, Ken and Billy and maybe, his uncle Gerald is playing him a tune on his fiddle!

Tommy and I go back to grade primary at St. Andrew's. I was there when he had his tragic accident. I lost touch over the years but reconnected again at the St. Andrew's reunion and most recently on Facebook. He was a great guy. My condolences to Patsy and Marian at this sad time and to his family. May he Rest In Peace.

Tom and I were neighbors growing up and met again years later when Tom joined Yellow Pages. We shared many laughs and stories of the passage.. To my friends Pat and Marion I send my sadness and love to you and your families during this time. I hope very soon we can all get together again. Linda

My condolences, Susan. My best memory of Tom is when he acted on the King's Theatre stage, exited on cue but the sound effects didn't go as cued. With sympathy, Jane

Dave and I will always remember Tom as a wonderful friend and neighbour. Tom's knowledge of world and historical events made conversations interesting and informative. Memories of Tom will be of him laughing with Susan, soaking up the sun on glorious warm days, reading and discussing yet another challenging novel, visiting us on our deck and chatting with passers by. Dave will often envision Tom enjoying a beer while talking about baseball and when they might make another trip up to Kentville to take in a Wildcat game. The bonus was, even if the Wildcats lost, the French fries were always hot and greasy and the hotdogs were sure to be tasty. Playing cards after a delicious dinner was such fun and enjoyed by Tom, giving him much delight at each win. Tom was a gentleman, soft spoken, always interested in those around him, and had a personality that naturally drew people to him. The happiest time we saw Tom was the day that he married Susan, whose love, devotion and caring gave Tom much comfort and happiness. It was lightly raining on that summer day at the Annapolis Royal Historic Gardens but stopped when the bride and groom met on the little bridge overlooking the lily pond. Dave and I were honoured to be witnesses as Tom and Susan exchanged their vows, and to feel the strong bond between them. It is true to say that "what matters most is who's with you when you die" and it was Susan who was with Tom at the end of his amazing and productive life. He was comfortable and was pain free and he was with his Susan. He knew and felt how much he was loved. Rest In Peace, our dear friend, we will always love you and miss you.
Dave and I extend our heartfelt sympathy and love to Susan and family.
Sincerely, David & Kathy Witherly
