Obituary of Ruth Alice Fredericks

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our mother, Ruth Alice Fredericks, on March 23, 2021 in the Annapolis Community Health Centre. Born in Granville Beach, October 27, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Hazel (Rock) Halliday. Ruth was a home maker most of her life, working around the house and on the farm is where she was the happiest. Loved her home, and to be outside. She was always busy; making jams and pickles, quilting, sewing, knitting or even playing Bingo. Ruth was also an avid reader; she loved a good book, even if it took her all night to finish it. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren who brought her much happiness. Ruth is survived by her sons, Henry LeRoy Jr. (Claudette) and David, both of Granville Beach; daughters, Nanette (Peter Donkin), Halifax and Suzette, Parkers Cove; grandchildren, Henry, Elizabeth, Amanda, Samantha, Ralph and Casey; four great grandchildren; with the sunshine in her life in later years coming from being a caregiver to her youngest grandchild Casey; sisters, Marie Hebb, Bridgetown, Iona Charleton, Maitland Bridge, Mae West, London, Ont.; brothers, Rick Halliday, Granville Beach, Neil Halliday, Halifax; as well as many nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Henry LeRoy Sr.; daughter, Yvonne; three children in infancy; sisters, Doris, Evelyn; brothers, Robert 1 (in infancy), Roland, Frank, Robert II (Marilyn, Granville Ferry) and Francis. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Annapolis Royal. There will be a funeral service held 2pm Saturday, March 27, 2021 in the Granville Beach Baptist Church, with Rev. Deann Carter officiating. Burial will follow in the Halliday Cemetery, Granville Beach. COVID 19 RESTRICTIONS WILL APPLY. Family flowers only.
