Obituary of Eva Marilyn Franklin

Eva Marilyn Franklin (Jefferson) passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of December 1, 2020. Eva was born in Mount Pleasant, Nova Scotia on May 8, 1939, the 5th child of Lloyd and Violet Jefferson. She grew up in Marshalltown, Nova Scotia and graduated from Digby Regional High School. After graduation, Eva moved to Ottawa, and then Halifax to work before returning to Digby, where she married Harold Franklin (deceased). Eva then settled in Acaciaville, Nova Scotia where she dedicated herself to raising 2 sons, Stephen and Jeffrey. In later years she lived in Digby and spent her final years at Tideview Terrace. Eva is pre-deceased by sisters Rita George (formerly of Truro, Nova Scotia) and Elizabeth Franklin (formerly of Digby, Nova Scotia) and brother Lloyd (Jr.) (formerly of Digby, Nova Scotia). She is survived by sister Shirley Foster (Halifax, Nova Scotia) and brothers Frank Jefferson (Bellville, Ontario) and Everett Jefferson (Parksville, Vancouver Island, BC). She is also survived by her sons Stephen (Riverview, New Brunswick) and Jeffrey (Kentville, Nova Scotia). Eva was keenly interested in crafts including needle work and home-made ornaments. She was a woman of deep and quiet faith. The family would like to thank the staff of Tideview Terrace who provided excellent, compassionate care in her final years. Because of COVID-19, there will be no visitation and a memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, with thanks, to the Alzheimer Society of Canada or the Canadian Cancer Society.
