Obituary of Thomas "Reg" Reginald Sarty

Thomas Reginald ‘Reg’ Sarty – 84, Port Wade, passed away peacefully at home on November 7, 2020. He was employed with Parks Canada, from April 1960 – March 1997. He worked hard on his hobby farm – pigs, piglets, cattle and steer, attending his gardens, picking and selling various cultivated berries, getting his own firewood and clam digging. He was an animal lover to his cat Molly and dog Ben. He was a loyal and honest friend. Earlier, in his life he renovated our present home. He truly enjoyed his 50th Wedding Anniversary on July 25, 2020. He was a longtime member of the Port Wade Baptist Church, where he was a deacon and trustee for many years. In recent years, he attended other Baptist Churches in the Annapolis Royal area. He was the son of the late Hughie and Mildred Sarty. He is survived by his wife, Ellen, and son, David; sister, Roberta (Peter) Boomsma, Dundes Ontario and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 2 infant daughters, at birth; sister, Twila Neily; nephew, Michael Neily. Visitation will be held 2-4pm Tuesday November 10, 2020, with a funeral service being held 2pm Wednesday November 11, 2020, both from the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Annapolis Royal with Rev. Dr. Elizabeth Legassie officiating. Burial will follow in Port Wade Cemetery. Donations in Reg’s memory may be made to Lung Association of Nova Scotia or to the Port Wade Cemetery.
