Jim was a bright star throughout my childhood and early adulthood. Ever since I can remember, our family travelled to Nova Scotia annually and a feature of that trip was time spent with the Price family. We spent days going on adventures, throughout the province and into PEI one year! We always found interesting places to visit together; Briar Island and Cape Breton were two of our more recent trips. Jim and Diane attended my wedding in 2017, and the following year my husband and I returned and spent time with them, something I count among one of the most special trips, and unfortunately the last time I would get to spend with Jim. Jim always had advice to offer, a story to share, and could always make you laugh. He had a special way of speaking to and working with kids that made me feel so empowered - driving tractors, building things, installing door knobs, caring for chickens and doing other fun projects. He taught through kindness and love and I will never forget the way he shaped my life. The Arnold/Grant-Morrris crowd sends their love and condolences to the entire Price clan. We wish we could be there with you all.

I have a long memory of Jim as we were born 6 hours apart in the old Grace Maternity Hospital in Halifax. ( I was the older one and never let him forget it!). We lived on the same block and our mothers soon had us in playpens together. Up until Jim moved to Paradise after grade 9 we played many sports together and had the usual youthful adventures. However the relationship continued and grew over the years and even in later years we celebrated birthdays together. Jim was always warmly welcomed whenever he dropped in to visit. While there are many things I could add.I would simply say to Diane and all the family that my life was more richly blessed knowing Jim . May you all find strength and comfort from friends as you move forward from grief to celebration of his life.
With blessings to all
Ernie

Dear Diane; Martha, my schoolmate; Aubrey and Nancy; Owen; and all your families:
I am sad that you've lost Jim who always had a smile, a witty comment, a warmth that was genuine and who reached out to others with kindnesses that others didn't think to offer. He was a bright light in so many lives! I particularly recall Jim's kindnesses to his Aunt Vera and my mother, Doris Hicks, while they resided at Crosskill Court. I shall remember him happily.

I have many memories of Jim but one of my favorites was told by James himself. When I was young I would spend part of the summer with aunt Diane and uncle Jimmy, Suzie and I got into all sorts of trouble. We would fall asleep in Jim and Di's bed and Jim would carry us to our bedroom and when he would pick me up he said I would turn into a plank of wood. He would have to turn sideways to get me through the door. I always loved to hear that story and Jim always loved to tell it!! Paradise won't be the same without you James but don't worry about Diane, we'll take good care of her!!! ❤️❤️❤️

We are very saddened to learn of Jim's passing. We have fond memories of our summer visits to your home, the "Prick Club", working on the solar pool and sharing fish and chips from Pearls. Jim always made us feel so welcomed and had a smile on his face. We appreciated him keeping an eye on Mother (Helen Vroom) when she was in Crosskill Court and in the Middleton Veteran Hospital. We know that he will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Love Bob & Betty Lavigne

So sorry to hear the passing of our special cousin. Jim was so thoughtful and dedicated to take our Mum out for drives and dinners when she lived at Crosskill Court. I always looked forward to visit on my annual trips from Manitoba. Jim made working fun whether we were picking up debris that floated on the shores of the ocean or building pipes and setting up his solar system for his pool, moving lawn, observing his hens or the garden. Of course we usually rewarded ourselves with fish and chips from "Pearls". Great memories I will always hold dear.

I’m so sorry to hear about Jim’s passing. My memories Jim are childhood memories. I remember getting to ride in one of his antique cars during the Lawrencetown parade just before the exhibition started. I also remember skating on the pond in the winter. Jim was such a kind man. He’ll be missed.
