Obituary of Leonard Vincent Tingley

Tingley, Leonard Vincent – 91, of Digby passed away at home November 30, 2023. Born in Liverpool, May 6, 1932, he was the son of the late Howard and Silva (Bird) Tingley.

Leonard enjoyed spending time outside in his garden, and watching sports like boxing and golf on TV. He also enjoyed a good game of Crib and going for drives with his son, Tim.

Leonard is survived by his children, Timothy (Kimberley), Deep Brook, Leonard (Monica), Scarborough, Ont., Gary (Cheryl), Ajax, Ont.; step children, Geneva (Wayne) Taran, Ont., William “Billy” Hatfield (Lorraine, dec.), NB; seven grandchildren; several great grandchildren; a great grandchild; brother, Douglas (June), Sable River; sisters, Pauline Brittain, Digby and Madeline Brown, Sable River. Besides his parents, he was predeceased, by his wife, Leora; brother, Lester; sister, Viola and Verna.

A visitation will be held 7-9pm Tuesday December 5 with a funeral service being held 2pm Wednesday December 6, both from the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Annapolis Royal, with Pastor Nathan Waterman officiating. Burial will follow in Clementsvale Cemetery. A reception will be held at the Clementsport Legion. Donations in Leonard’s memory may be made to the Lung Association of Nova Scotia.
