Obituary of Charles Almon Bent

Bent, Charles Almon – 79, of Kingston formerly of Beaconsfield, passed away suddenly at home June 15, 2023. Born in Annapolis Royal, February 14, 1944, he was the son of the late Charles and Pearl Bent.

Charles liked to keep himself busy. Driving trucks for many years, He also worked many years for CP Rail in the maintenance department, and in later years back to driving trucks with Spicers and helping out on his daughters family farm. He and Florence enjoyed spending their winters in Florida which they did for 16 years. He was an avid Toronto Blue Jays fan; had a great love for his Strawberry Shortcake and friend of Bill W for 34 years.

He is survived by his wife, Florence; son, Scott (Beth) Bent, Bridgetown; daughters, Amy (Terry) Evans, Wilmot, Melda (Clinton) Cogswell, Oregon; grandchildren, Colby, Colton, Allyson, Megan, Shelby, Baylee, Austin, and Abby; four great grandchildren; sisters, Muriel Bent of Hampton and Ferne Donaghy of Surrey, BC; many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by sister, Pauline Bent.

Cremation has taken place. A visitation will be held 7-9pm Monday June 19, from the Kaulbach Family funeral Home, Bridgetown with a funeral service at 2pm Tuesday June 20, 2023 in the Bridgetown Baptist Church, with Pastor Herb Anderson officiating. Family flowers only. Donations in memory may be sent to Canadian Cancer Society or Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation.
