Melbourne Olivier Comeau 1938-2026

Melbourne Olivier Comeau, 88, of Moschelle, Annapolis County, died at Digby General Hospital on August 31, 2026.

Mel was born in St. Bernard, Digby County on March 30, 1938 to Edouard and Alda (Gaudet) Comeau.

He attended St. Anne’s College and received his teaching diploma at N.S. Teacher’s College in Truro, N.S.  Mel continued to take courses at several universities and completed his Masters in Education.  After teaching in Weymouth for 13 years Mel went to work for the federal government in various positions including Canada Pension Plan and Canada Post. 

Mel was predeceased by his parents, his brother, Louis, and his grandson, Lucas Oulton.  He is survived by his son, Paul, and daughters, Louise Bettcher, Elizabeth Stayer, Denise Comeau and Nicole Lombard; grandchildren, Matthew, Kristina, Elisa, Kayla, Charlotte, Hayley, Renée, and Raquel; 11 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, most especially his nephew Eddie Comeau and his best friend, Susan Langpap.

Mel requested that there be no service.
