Ronald Clayton Hewey Obituary
It is with sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Ronald Clayton Hewey on June 20, 2026, at the Annapolis Royal Nursing Home, at the age of 96.
Born in Victory, Nova Scotia, on May 3, 1930. Ronald was the son of the late Clayton and Eleanor Hewey and was one of twelve children. Throughout his life Ronald was known as a hardworking and dedicated man. He worked in many occupations over the years, including as a woodsman, carpenter and farmer. However, the role that brought him the greatest pride and enjoyment was his work with Farmers Dairy, where he operated a milk delivery franchise for more then 30 years.
As the familiar milkman who delivered door to door throughout the community, Ron became a welcome presence in the lives of countless families. He genuinely loved his work and the friendships he formed along his route, and many people fondly remember him for his kindness, reliability and warm smile.
Ron was especially proud of building the family home in Moschelle with his own hands, creating a place where he and his beloved wife, Juanita, and much-loved son Greg, would share a lifetime of memories. Family was at the heart of everything he did, and he took great pride in providing for those he loved.
Ron was predeceased by his son Gregory Ronald Hewey, and daughter Debra Lynn (in infancy) and by his parents Clayton and Eleanor Hewey.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 73 years, Juanita (Wiles)Hewey, whose devotion and companionship were the foundation of a remarkable life together. He is also survived by two sisters Aline Henshaw and Joyce Lewis as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will cherish his memory.
Ron will be remembered for his strong work ethics, his determination, and his love he had for Juanita and Greg. His legacy lives on in the home he built, the family he loved, and the many lives he touched throughout his years in the community.
The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff of Annapolis Royal Nursing Home for the compassionate care and kindness shown to Ron during his time there.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, June 24, 2026, in Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Annapolis Royal, with Pastor Herb Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Oakhill Cemetery, Dugway Road.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Oak Hill Cemetery C/O Magaret Mailman 37 Hillside Drive, Lequille, NS B0S1A0.
